I have been working in the field of intellectual property law for about 20 years, during which I led the IP administration of two international law firms (Noerr LLP and Hogan Lovells LLP) for a total of about 16 years. In addition to handling tasks, my main focus is on coordinating and monitoring deadlines of incoming mails, which are distributed within the team. As a team leader, I liaise between lawyers and support staff to ensure continuous communication and smooth workflows.

I have always seen the role of a team leader as a great challenge, which I have taken on with a lot of dedication and enthusiasm. Therefore, I enjoy sharing my experience with my colleagues in regular meetings and trainings. Through joint meetings, priorities and objectives are established within the team to develop target-oriented solutions. Sensitivity and empathy can be crucial to the success of a team. A mix of listening, questioning, showing appreciation, but also insisting on problem-solving is required. Identifying and promoting the different strengths of each individual employee is particularly challenging.

Continuous information exchange enables me to constantly learn about new IP practices. For this reason, I was a member of the INTA Committee for Paralegals in Germany from 2016 to 2018 and organized events at the German Patent and Trademark Office.
